I’ve never heard of Africans swimming the Atlantic Ocean to get to America and become slaves. Slavery implies a lack of freedom. Any Mexican can leave America anytime he or she wants. Just put the wife and eight kids in the 79 Buick and head south.

Mexicans are not a ‘race’. It’s a nationality. Do you like it when people around the world assume only blonde haired blue eyed people are ‘American’ (u.s. citizens)? I do believe that they are becoming something much worst than slaves. Slave masters made an investment when they bought slaves. Not everyone could own a slave. The slave’s health and well being was the responsibly of the ‘master’. Like I said, slaves were an investment. They could not easily be replaced. If one died, there went the investment money. The ‘masters’ had to provide a way for them to have shelter and get food. They were the legal responsibly of the ’slave owner’. Illegal immigrants are not that big of an investment. They barely make enough to support themselves. Food and shelter take up much of their earnings. The little they do save goes ‘home’ to their country of origin. The employers don’t have to worry about supplying health insurance or paying taxes for them since they are no within the legal system. If an illegal immigrant gets seriously hurt, they can EASILY be replaced, often by the next day, with no added cost to the employer. In 2002 The U.S. supreme court decided that illegals do not have the right to claim back-pay owed to them by former employers, meaning that an employer who hires illegals doesn’t even have to PAY them. So while ’slaves’ were a big investment, and had to be ‘taken care of’ to a point. Illegal immigrants are basically at the mercy of crooked employers, who don’t even have to supply them with a means to get food or shelter. It’s a VERY sad thing that’s going on. The employers need to be punished severely for robbing tax payers and for unfair work practices.
